WHAT IS THE BAY FERRY EXERCISE?
A Commitment to Maritime Emergency Preparedness and Response...Beginning Monday, September 18th and concluding on Thursday, September 21st, the Golden Gate Ferry in cooperation with the United States Coast Guard-Sector San Francisco, the Water Emergency Transportation Authority (WETA), and assistance from other ferry and large passenger vessel operators, will host the sixth Bay Ferry Emergency Preparedness and Security Exercise

Maritime Active Threat (AT) IncidentsThis year the Bay Ferry exercise will focus on preventing, responding to, and recovering from Active Threat (AT) incidents. AT's incidents may include:

Exercise PurposeThe purpose of the exercise is to provide objective assessments of Bay Area maritime emergency preparedness and security program strengths and those in need of further improvement. The exercise also provides and opportunity to validate the benefits of previous Port Security Grant Program (PSGP) investments.

To view and register for Bay Ferry XI lead-up training opportunities , access the exercises schedule and and other exercise documents you will need first to register and then be vetted as an approved stakeholder. Persons approved to participate in Bay Ferry VI lead-up training and the exercise itself include, commuter ferry terminal personnel, commuter ferry and large passenger vessel crew and masters. Other persons approved to participate include local, state and federal maritime first responders and agencies that participate in the U. S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Council and Neptune Coalition including law enforcement special operations teams. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding you ability to participate
